Thesis writing service in Trivandrum
Help for University of Kerala, KTU, SCTIMST and KUHS scholars, worked remotely.
Yes, we help PhD scholars in Trivandrum with their thesis, and all the work is done remotely from Nagercoil. Thiruvananthapuram is the closest of our five cities to Nagercoil, but still we work by phone, WhatsApp and video only. We have no office in the city and don’t come to Palayam or Kariavattom for meetings. What we give is support around your thesis, like structure, help with drafting, editing, data analysis, format and similarity checks, and the writing and decisions stay with you.
In Trivandrum a PhD can come from many different bodies, and each body is following its own rules. The University of Kerala wants a full set of papers and copies at the time of submission, but says little about layout. KTU has a format template where every margin is fixed in millimetres. Then there are SCTIMST, IISER, IIST and the medical colleges under KUHS, and each one has its own guidebook. One relief for scholars here is that none of the documents we read asks for a Malayalam abstract.
That is why our first question is always about the body that will give your degree, and the year of regulations under which you registered. Whatever rules we mention on this page, we took them from the official PDFs and we opened those in October 2026.

Universities in Trivandrum and what they ask for
University of Kerala
Many arts, science and commerce scholars in the city are registered with the University of Kerala. Some are in its departments at Kariavattom and some work at recognised research centres. The thesis submission form asks for four copies of the thesis along with the fee. You also give ten copies of a short synopsis, of one page each. The Kerala University Library also has to give you a clearance certificate. Scholars who never joined the library give a non-member certificate in its place.
APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU)
Engineering scholars at CET, GEC Barton Hill and the other KTU research centres follow the 2023 research regulations. Faculty can register part-time. People working with organisations or industries anywhere in the country can also take the part-time route, with an NOC from their appointing authority. For similarity the limit is 20%. The regulations call 20% a general guideline only. When they count it, bibliography is not included, and self-plagiarism is also kept out.
SCTIMST (Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute)
The thesis guidelines of SCTIMST want the thesis in English, on A4 paper, typed in Times New Roman 12. Print it double spaced and use only one side of the sheet. For references they want SAGE-Harvard style. About 200 references is what they advise. The synopsis can be six pages at the most, and it has to be given three months before the thesis.
IISER Thiruvananthapuram
Before the synopsis, the IISER TVM PhD guidebook asks for a paper. It should be published or accepted in a journal from your School’s list, with you as lead author or as a major contributor. That paper must cover at least one-third of your thesis work. The School of Chemistry has some extra routes based on impact factor. In one of them, a single paper with you as first author is enough if the journal’s impact factor is above 7.0.
IIST, Valiamala
As per IIST’s PhD guidelines of October 2025, part-time scholars can come from IIST itself, from ISRO and the Department of Space as sponsored staff, or from industry under an MoU. Two papers as first author are required. You first face an open pre-synopsis seminar and viva, and after that you get ten days for the synopsis and three months for the soft copy of the thesis. With it goes a plagiarism report from IIST’s own tool.
Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS)
Faculty in medicine, nursing and pharmacy in Trivandrum register for their PhD with KUHS, though KUHS is in Thrissur. In the KUHS PhD regulations the thesis should come to 40,000 words at least and 100,000 words at most. Annexures and references are not counted in this. Text is Times New Roman 12 with 1.15 line spacing, and printing is on both sides of A4 paper.
Kerala University’s one-page synopsis, ten copies, no names
Many scholars get surprised by one detail in the University of Kerala form. Along with the thesis you give ten copies of a one-page synopsis, and that page cannot carry your name or the name of your supervising teacher. The form don’t give any reason for this. Our guess is that a page without names can be sent to possible examiners without telling them whose thesis it is.
So you have to write this page a little differently. The title comes first. Below it, give the problem in two or three sentences, the method in two, and main findings in three or four. In the last line write what is new in your thesis. Don’t write “my guide” or “our department” anywhere in it. Don’t name your college in the sample description also. One page means one page only, so don’t reduce the font to 9 point to fit more.
The same form also has three timing rules you should know. You can hand in the application and the synopsis copies as early as three months before you submit the thesis. But if three months pass and your thesis is still not there with them, you lose the fee you paid. And in case your title was changed after registration, you attach the University order for that change, in original.
We couldn’t find any thesis layout manual published by the University of Kerala, and its 2022 regulations are online only as a scanned file which we couldn’t search. So in the beginning itself, fix the page setup with your supervisor, meaning the margins, typeface, reference style and the order of chapters. Write these down and follow the same till the last page.
The library check at Kerala University
For theses, papers, dissertations and project reports, the Kerala University Library lists two tools, iThenticate and DrillBit. To get the check done you fill the library’s plagiarism detection form. In the form they ask for your registration order number and the language of the document. They also want to know if the file is a PDF or a Word file, how many pages it has, and the challan number and date of the fee payment. Your supervisor has to sign it and put the office seal.
Many times scholars are told that the library checks a thesis only once, on the final version. We searched for this rule. It is not written in the form and we didn’t see it on any official page. When you go to book the check, ask library staff directly how many times they will run your file. In any case, take the first run as the real one. Complete the references, the quotation marks and the citations first, and only then send the file.
The submission form also gives no percentage limit. Ask your department which figure the University of Kerala is following now, and get it from someone who can sign for it.
KTU: paid Scopus journals and an A5 library copy
KTU is stricter on papers than most universities. Clause 19.2 asks for one paper in a journal indexed in SCI, SCIE, SSCI or Scopus, and it cannot be a review or a survey paper. Journals that charge authors have one extra condition. If a journal takes a fee and is listed only in Scopus, the paper doesn’t meet the rule. Such a journal must be in SCI, SCIE or SSCI also. Apart from this you need one paper at a conference conducted by a registered society of good standing. You have to be the first author or the corresponding author, your affiliation must show KTU, and micro-articles are not counted.
Before you send a paper anywhere, see whether that journal is taking money from authors. If you pay a journal that is only in Scopus, the paper may get published and still not count when you reach the synopsis.
The KTU format guidelines are the most exact in the city. The thesis limit is 300 pages. The soft copy is A4, but library copies are printed in A5, so check that every figure and table can still be read at A5 size. Because KTU copies use both sides of the paper, the left and right margins swap from page to page. Odd pages have 35 mm on the left and 25 mm on the right, and even pages have it the other way round. The upper and lower margins are 25 mm. Each chapter must start on a new odd page.
For the synopsis meeting, you bring the synopsis along with the first draft of the full thesis, in both hard copy and soft copy. After they accept your synopsis you have two months only to get the thesis to KTU. At this point the Doctoral Committee is giving a list of eight examiners or more. Maximum three people in that list can be from Kerala, and nobody can be from a KTU-affiliated college.
Medical and space-science theses
Two types of thesis here need special care.
Medical and health-science theses come under SCTIMST or KUHS. SCTIMST’s guidelines clearly say that if you are not fluent in writing English, you should get the manuscript edited by a professional before handing it in. This is the editing work we do. We correct grammar, clarity and consistency, we keep your meaning as it is, and every change is shown to you. KUHS has a plagiarism policy which asks for a citation when 14 words are taken together, and quotation marks when the borrowed part reaches 40 words. There is one more limit in it. Suppose more than 30% of your work is copied from the open internet, KUHS will not consider it at all.
KUHS has a paper requirement too. One paper should be published or accepted in an indexed, peer-reviewed journal approved by the Board of Studies. You also need one conference presentation, or else a second paper in place of it. The thesis has to be submitted within three months of the final synopsis, as four soft-bound copies.
In space and defence researches, some of the material is secret. At KTU, clause 21.2 lets a supervisor ask for relief from the plagiarism check on grounds of IP or national security. If any part of your thesis is restricted, tell us in the first call itself. Share with us only what you are allowed to share. We won’t ask for the restricted portion.
Working with us from Trivandrum
Start with a WhatsApp message or a phone call. First we want to know which university you are registered with and in which department or centre. Also tell us the year of joining and the next thing you have to submit. KTU scholars should also tell us which papers they have and in which journals they came, since the paid-Scopus rule may change the plan.
You send the chapter, the data or the draft. We go through it and revert with a clear note on what it needs. If you want us to continue, the scope, dates and fee are agreed in writing before any work starts. We put our comments and edits in your own file as tracked changes. Which ones to accept is your call.
If you are with KTU, we set up the mirrored margins when chapter one starts itself, and we print the figures at A5 to see they can be read. For University of Kerala scholars, we write down your agreed layout on one sheet and check each chapter against it. Before the library check we go through the references and quotations with you, so that first run comes clean.
Your supervisor stays your supervisor, even when you take our help. At Kerala University the layout is what you and your supervisor agree on, and at KTU the Doctoral Committee approves each stage. We work inside those decisions.

Questions from Trivandrum scholars
Nagercoil is close to Trivandrum. Can we meet in person?
No. Trivandrum is the nearest of our cities, but we don’t hold meetings there or at our own end. All our work with you happens over phone, WhatsApp, email and video calls. Because of this, whatever we change or suggest is there in writing and you can check it later.
Do I need a Malayalam abstract?
We didn’t find this requirement in any Trivandrum regulation or guideline we read. In Chennai a Tamil abstract is required, so that city is different. Even then, ask your department one time. Sometimes an old batch is following a local practice that is not written anywhere.
I paid a publication fee to a Scopus journal. Does that paper count at KTU?
Only if the journal is also listed in SCI, SCIE or SSCI as well. As per clause 19.2 of the 2023 regulations says a paid journal that is in Scopus alone doesn’t satisfy the rule.
What similarity percentage does the University of Kerala allow?
We looked in the submission form and there is no figure in it. On the official pages also we couldn’t find one. Please ask your department and the library, and take their reply in writing. KTU uses 20% as a general guideline.
Can you help an SCTIMST scholar with editing?
Yes. In fact the SCTIMST guidelines tell scholars who are not fluent in English to get professional editing. We do grammar corrections and fix the lines that read confusing. References we put in SAGE-Harvard. Synopsis has a six page limit there, and we help you bring yours inside it.
I work at ISRO. Is IIST’s part-time route open to me?
IIST’s guidelines cover permanent employees of ISRO and the Department of Space who are sponsored by their organisation. A central-government NOC is required. For the exact terms, check the current call from IIST.
